Simple Indulgence

Can I say Chocolate Indulgence cake is one of my simple indulgences? The fact that chocolate is my favourite forever make that cake tops my food chart...hand me anything with chocolate and I will melt to the giver...that easy, yes...

Why did I come up to this? It's simply my way to be grateful for every little things in my life...

And to my delight, this happened without you ever noticing but it somehow warmed your feelings all along...

My simple indulgence recently, from my visit to my favourite bookstore...I had this habit of strolling along (as in gardens) the bookshelves checking books (what else)...just checking and I might walk away without buying any...but I find this so therapeutical...some may find this a total waste of time, but surprisingly I regard this as indulgence...just to roam in bookstore!

Another simple one which I hope you can relate, is having your favourite cuppa at work station...the aroma of that steaming tea / coffee will definitely perk your mood, no? It is just as I put it, simple indulgence...but in my situation, a great company...yes, that very cup of tea!

Maybe I could never list down each and every one of it...but I'm glad that I have posted this...I would share some more as writing this, is an indulgence too!

Inspired

That title is so simple and short,no? But it tells the whole story that I simply got inspired!

It certainly has changed certain aspects in my routine...it affects positively on my diet and complexion too!

So what is it that inspired me? Can I say the way I see my meal from a journey? It started during my trip to Sydney recently, which I still haven't got the vibe to blog about...soon, I hope ;)

Whenever we travel, Mr Husband is very particular about halal food and that means we only visited Turkish / Arabic diner everytime we are abroad...how lucky we were that we found plenty of Turkish diners in Sydney...how does that inspired me?

After we got back home, I'm still salivating over the delicious Turkish kebab we had in Sydney...maybe having it during the winter caused the flavour bursting in my mouth resulted that extra effect we never experienced at home!

Shameful to admit, I went high and low to search for the ingredients so I can create that kebab back at home...I'm very lucky to have Presto Supermarket conveniently located at train station to my office...this place seemed to have everything that I need for my 'exotic' kebab...

I will diligently grilled the wraps, cooked the fillings which alternately consisted of mushrooms, fish fillets, eggs, tuna with overloaded salads...it may not tempt you, but it surely a hit to me..the satisfaction of creating my own meal...

How does this improve my complexion? By having your own packed meal, you don't have to go out for lunch...indirectly, I can escape the scorching hot sun during my lunch break...how convenient! Believe it or not, the dreadful blemishes have slowly diminished and my skin is getting clearer if not flawless (which requires some other magic)...

This is another inspiration adapted from the locals in Sydney...where the ladies seemed so elegantly enjoying their wraps at the park...I, obviously do not have the luxury to sit at my local parks here thanks to the tropical hot sun, but my meal succeeded in bringing that sweet taste of my journey even for a mere hour in reality...simple indulgence~

I will post another entry on other simple indulgences...stuff I wish to share with you!

Lazy Day

Forgive this soul for being absent...long hiatus, really! Well, I've got good reasons to that..my Aussie trip has been the main reason actually...not the trip alone but the preparations prior to that were quite taxing, talking like a novice traveller heh!

But I'm not gonna divulge about the trip now...more on trying to practice on posting some entries after so long...hence, this lazy post...I 'm allowed to be lazy today as it's SUNDAY! I can't risk laziness on weekdays, peeps ;)

My favourite day is actually Friday (guess to everybody)...but Sunday is the day where I can stay at home all day long, no joke! I love spending my days lounging on my couch with my favourite tv shows while sipping hot tea...blissful for me...sorry for making your flea market trip or picnic in the park sounds lame...but my idea of Sunday is stay-at-home...boring, you might say...but the joy of not doing anything is so pleasurable...hmmm~

I guess I need to add some spices to my Sunday routine in case you imagine it as mundane...my day starts early with laundry...the moment your machine is spinning the detergent, this sweet + fresh fragrance filled your kitchen..and you feel instantly refreshed to give you the idea on what's for breakfast..try this and you know what I mean, hehe..

Lunch is usually home cooked or sometimes fast food meal outside (which is very rare cos I dont wanna break the stay-at-home rule)...napping is totally out of question since I love my Li channel more! A bit of stretching is not gonna hurt, so I will usually whip something light for dinner (like for today, egg noodle with beef and mushroom), which was prepared as early as 5pm cos I love settling everything early so I can continue with my chilling throughout the day...what a trick, to enjoy the remaining day before it ends (like my case at 9pm when it's already feel like Monday)....

If you ask me, I'm grateful for being able to savour this 'lazy' (Sun)day on every weekend...a routine which spells relax in my term :)

That email from Down Under

Yerp, you got that right! I received an email from Australia...for that obvious reason, my Aussie trip! I never expected the hotel to be replying within 24 hours...but they did...and I'm more than impressed!

I guess the service level in certain countries are totally amazing! Previously, I had the same experience of dealing with a hotel in London...I had some special request which need me to personally contact them...the easiest & cheapest way was definitely email! I sent an email to an address provided in the website without much hope...assuming that they will either acknowledge but not replying or the email is just to make their business looks good etc...sorry for being skeptical...but they have proved me wrong when they replied my email in less than 24 hours...informing that my request will be noted with some assuring words...how it instantly warmed my hearts <3

All of these gestures made me feel appreciated eventhough I haven't made any bookings at their respective hotels..kudos to them!

What I see in You

Hey, that title is not trying to judge you...but I just feel like sharing on what I see in people that I casually bump into everywhere...especially if you're commuting in public....tendencies of observing is unavoidable! Forgive me, but I seemed to enjoy it sometimes...

Like every morning, I'll usually find my space near the exit door (to ease the process of leaving the train, that is)...and I'll be standing (throughout the journey) with almost the same crowd at the same spot (literally having the same common interest & intention..haha)...I'm usually burying myself into my book but occasionally I just want to savour the scenery outside the window...and slowly picking up my observation skill...don't be afraid, I'm not into that creepy dark mood...but more on admiring...yes, I noticed that the slim lady next to me is wearing a very flattering looking pants! And she smelled so good too...I had to stop myself from asking the perfume she's using...creepy, maybe...but in a good way...haha

What does all of this got to do with my life? Plenty!

If the person I admire is someone lean, tone and smells nice too...I will obviously be inspired...I know that's vain...but I  want to be like her...take this positively, I need to eat healthily in order to achieve that body, no? So the moment I exit the train, I will head to the fruit shop and grab 2 slices of papaya...I'm just lucky that the fruit shop at the station opens as early as 8 am...that, I take as a sign to me...binge on your fruits, honey!

Periodically, there will be moments when I will struck at how flawless your skin! The next thing I know, I'll be scouting the cosmetic shelf at Sephora or Guardian and Watsons...for that porcelain skin? And my beauty regime will tremendously change!

But of course, there will be moments where I aspired at what others are doing / having but ended up in frustrations...such as high heels...I ended my affair with killer heels after I got pregnant 2 years ago...that was the time when I discovered that ballerina pumps / flats are simply divine! But I sometimes marvelled at those ladies who can walk effortlessly in those tower-high heels and run to catch the train...I might purchase some if I do not have to take 2 trains (1 transit) to work...someday :)

So, the next time you're in the train and some creepy looking woman staring at you, that could be me! She means no harm, just admiring something that she couldn't have...like those candies up there!

Second month of 2014

It's February now...but I've got so much to share eventhough the year has only started...There are so many great  happenings in the past months...

Last December saw my youngest brother got married to his sweetheart...it was such a joyful and blessed union and I've got a new sister in law (in addition to the other two)...it was such a great way to end the year...

January is another milestone for my little angel, Miss R...she's turning two on 19th January and we celebrated her birthday with her grandparents and uncles plus a new aunt...I've got to be pleased with myself as I prepared the main dish on my own...which was a big hit...it was the first attempt, mind you ;)

Another crazy but fun thing in January is my obsession towards Sofina bag (the bag image is in the previous entry)...well, I missed the first launch and vowed to grab the next restock which I made it! I scored the red one! Thanks to the sweetie who lent her iPhone for the purchase...that's another drama in the office...LOL~

I don't wanna brag about this...but I couldn't believe my luck when Mr. Hubby relented on the idea for a vacation abroad! So, we managed to secure an online booking for our trip in September...I'm beyond excited as I've never been to that country (check the pic and you'll know where my next destination will be)...I'm currently working on the itinerary... lost some sleep (or either been sleeping on it) just to make sure that our journey will be smooth sailing one! The closest that I could imagine of what the place would be at the moment is by walking in google map...such fun to drag the yellow man around the map just to be virtually present at our desired place...you should try it, and don't blame me if you get hooked!

Overall, my 2014 has begun with some great moments and with the upcoming travel plan, I'll definitely be passing the months with so much anticipation as it gets nearer to the travel date...in the meantime, I can only plan and pray for the best!

5 days in a Week

Front CoverIf you've been wondering which sappy book that I read in the previous post, this is it...I didn't realize that I'm a sucker for chic lit...oh well, I claimed to be a fan of historical / gothic book...but judging from my daily wear, it totally send the wrong message...I don't dwell in dark cloak, I don't wear charcoal eyeliner...instead I'm proudly carrying my bright red bag with busy prints blouse and leopard pumps...to work, yes...you may call it a disaster but I carry on with what I fancy rather than the coherence of it...my runway, is just the train station track...and my audiences are just the strangers who happened to rush to & from work...phew!

That basically sum up on how do I look during the weekdays and my current read at the moment...I'm not really a bookworm but travelling in public transport give me the chance to indulge in my favourite pastime...yes, that red bag is constantly carrying book(s)...it's becoming a must have and almost as crucial as my make up pouch (which is another disdain to be even called a make up)...I will share with you on what's in there...in another entry, perhaps ;)

The winter in my mind

If the joy of writing has been in my life...guess this blog is created out of the joy of typing...or more to (screen) touching...thanks to the convenience birthed from technology?

Let's skip the boring part...I  name this space as my labyrinth...thus the idea of sending the message straight is not intended...living its name as a maze too...

The weather is currently hazy...and chilly at times...must be synching with the current winter season...and no, I don't get snow in here....but the weather is nice...

But the journey I had in the train today was a hot one...despite the aircon, I didn't enjoy the seat since it was facing to the sun...was in there for 20 minutes and felt like burnt in the oven...the sun was killing me!

The chilly winter feel brushed my mind at that moment..how I wish a drop of snow flakes could change it all? Unrealistic as it may sound, I blamed the book that I'm reading in the train for this cheesy thought...really...it's some sappy story of a single girl in LONDON...yes, I adore the city...with February in mind, it means winter in London...dreamy mode on!

I continued my uncomfortable reading by the window that faced the sun...how reality sometimes hurt but it keeps me grounded...
