To be honest, Australia was never listed in my travel wish list...but the plan to visit Sydney was triggered by Mr Husband...thanks to his idea (and his credit card) that this trip was materialized! Why Sydney, you may ask...obvious reason, Sydney Opera House!
The plan was to visit the city during Spring as I never experienced the season and obviously to feast on the floral blooms...but to take advantage of Merdeka Holiday, we decided to come during the interval of winter to spring...
I have never been a fan of winter...it's gloomy, most shops close early and it gets dark as early as 4pm! Need I to mention the freezing weather and the wind that makes all your hair stand...not my cup of tea...never!
But I have a vibe that the winter in Sydney is NOT gonna kill me...funny since I've never been there...besides, how cold can it be since I will be arriving on the final week of winter...and my instinct is telling me that the weather not gonna be that icy cold...which turned out to be WRONG!
The moment we touched down at Sydney Airport, I have already felt chilly...and when I exit the plane...I was shivering like a mad woman...mind you, I'm not easily cold as I can stay under 16 degree air con without a cover, seriously! But that weather at that time was crazy cold and I regret on not packing my coat! I was depending on my jacket and my hands went numb all over...told my husband that we should not joke about winter...Down Under or anywhere...lesson learned there...I decided not to get miserable by making plans to go for coat shopping...what a lame excuse but at that time, it became a necessity...not a luxury.
I was thankful that the process to enter the country was a breezy one...not even a single checking on our luggage, mind you Aussie uses dogs for luggage checking...but we went through the fast lane without hassle...Alhamdulillah!
And the process to get to our hotel was a smooth one as well...we took a shuttle van (Travel Concierge) from the airport and safely arrived at the hotel.
